Yve Susskind, Ph.D. is a co-owner and principal of Praxis Associates whose passion is helping clients inquire deeply to better understand what works best both for their organizational culture and for their stakeholders, and why.
Yve is creative and highly skilled in developing programs and evaluations around evidence-based theories of change. Her personal mission is “to support organizations and change-makers through all phases of the planning-action-learning cycle so they continuously grow in their effectiveness to fulfill their missions.”
Her style is to collaborate closely with clients and to serve as a catalyst for their ongoing learning and effectiveness. She enjoys the variety of working in a number of different ways with clients.
In addition to her work with Praxis Associates, Yve is an experienced manager in the non‑profit and education sectors, including her work as executive or managing director for three nonprofit organizations, and as founder and head of an alternative high school.
Earlier in her career, she specialized and published in the area of youth leadership and in building organizations that meaningfully involve and empower young people.
Prior to that richly rewarding endeavor, Yve was an environmental educator, working with teachers to integrate environmental inquiry, service and action into their curricula.
She holds a doctorate in interdisciplinary planning, and a master’s degree in environmental education, both from the University of Michigan.

James Cottrell, MA, LMP is a co-owner and principal of Praxis Associates, and has worked in Team and Organizational Development in corporate, non-profit and academic sectors since 1990.
The principle-based, whole system approach that James embodies is grounded in his 30 years of experience as a direct, hands-on healthcare provider. He celebrates the opportunity to bring compassionate, direct, and appropriately challenging guidance and support to individuals, teams and entire organizations that are committed to developing deeper self-awareness, while exploring their current reality, future potential and powerful goals.
In concert with other Praxis Associates, James facilitates the transformative power of engaging the whole person, mind, body and spirit, in meaningful work that involves enlivening new ways of seeing, thinking, and communicating.
Clients of Praxis appreciate gaining new perspectives from which to better question, understand, and focus on the root causes, not just the symptoms, of the often complex issues present in their daily work experience. As a result, they become better able to collaborate in making well-informed decisions, learning from their actions, and creating success in their business and personal lives.
James’s career has grown from roots in experiential education facilitation and leadership training at the University of Michigan, the National Outdoor Leadership School, Outward Bound Professional, Teams and Leaders, and other experiential education programs in the Northwest. He received a BA from Sonoma State University, trained and worked in Real Time Strategic Change at DTA and Five Oceans in Ann Arbor, MI, and received a Masters in Applied Behavioral Science from Bastyr University.

Jennifer D. Susskind, MCP, Praxis consulting partner, has over 20 years of professional experience in evaluation, strategic planning, community organizing and social service delivery. She has led numerous program-level and system-level evaluations, population and organizational needs assessments, strategic planning initiatives and multi-agency resource development projects. Her subject matter expertise is multidisciplinary and broad-based, and includes behavioral health and public health systems; early childhood education and early intervention; environmental justice; and community, workforce and economic development.
Jennifer has a Master's degree in City and Regional Planning from University of California Berkeley and a BA in Environmental Studies from University of California Santa Cruz.
Monika Mann, MPH, Praxis consulting associate, has a vast amount of public health experience both domestically and internationally including, with focus areas in health behavior change; disability and inclusion; and optimal aging. She is adept at strategic planning, problem solving, and working with diverse stakeholders in order to achieve optimal solutions to complex problems. Monika is an associate faculty member at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health where she collaborates on research to promote maximal function and accessibility for people with physical limitations. She is currently evaluating a program in Rwanda and recently conducted an end-of-project evaluation in El Salvador. She resides in the San Francisco Bay Area where she has worked as a Project Manager to improve health equity for residents of low-income, ethnically diverse neighborhoods.
